2005 Outdoor Youth Challenge

Weston, W.V. - Local youth had the opportunity to showcase their outdoor skills during the 2005 Outdoor Youth Challenge sponsored by the West Virginia Division of Natural Recourses. The day's events included archery, fish identification, range estimation, .22 rifle, clay targets, animal track identification, casting competition, a written test on game and fish laws and safety, and for the senior group, muzzleloader shooting. The event coincided with the "Hunting and Fishing Days Calibration" at Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park.

Hardee's was on hand to provide biscuits and gravy for breakfast and 1/3-pound cheeseburgers and 1/3-pound Thickburgers for lunch on both days. The food was provided at no charge for the event participants, Conservation Officers, and volunteers.
